We are now registering for the 2014-2015 school year.
The mission of "Little Lambs Preschool" is helping young children develop by providing a spiritual, emotional, and educational foundation based on God's word. Growing in faith, praising God and sharing his forgiveness.
Our desire to provide a Christian preschool experience for young children flows from God's commands to us to "train up a child in the way he should go", to "feed (His) lambs", and to "bring up a child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Our preschool strives to assist parents, not replace them in this privilege and responsibility.
We wish to provide such a nurturing environment, not only to Christ's lambs that are members of our church family, but also to others in the community.
To provide a Christ-centered learning environment
To guide the children to a better understanding and closer relationship with their Savior, Jesus Christ
To provide an opportunity for the child to develop socially with other children
To provide meaningful play experiences that contributes to the developmental needs of the child
To provide an educational foundation on which future learning experiences can be based and to foster readiness for the primary grades
To help the child learn to accept others, even though they may be different than self
To provide the children with opportunities to act and think for themselves and develop a degree of independence
To help the children develop an interest in the world around them
To foster in the children the idea that learning can be exciting and FUN!
To serve as a mission outreach to the community
Daily activities will include:
Table Activities (Fine Motor)
Circle Time (Calendar, Weather)
Outdoor Play (Large Motor)
Theme of the Date (includes Music/Art)
This schedule is very flexible and may vary depending on the activities and projects for the day. The schedule is a tool to make the day run smoothly and to give the children a sense of following a routine.
Little Lambs Preschool includes programs for children who are 3 and 4 years old by September 1 of the coming school year.
Enrollment is open to those children regardless of race, color, national and ethnic origin with all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or other school-administered programs.
All children must be potty trained.

We reserve the right to divide the two programs where three-year-olds meet on Tuesday and Thursday should enrollment for one session becomes too large.

Registration for your child is complete when the fee and registration form have been received. A class confirmation will be sent to you when we receive the fee and registration form.
A yearly tuition of $1,260 for the 2 day a week class can be paid at the beginning of the school year, or a monthly fee (September - May) of $140.00 must be paid by the first of each month. Delinquent payments will be addressed by the Board of Education at Shepherd of the Hills. Consistent failure to make payments on time could result in a request to withdraw the child from the program.
If the child does not make the proper adjustments to preschool, or is considered in any way to be a detriment to the other children or preschool program, and upon recommendation of the teacher and administration, a parent may be requested to withdraw such a child.

Discipline will be based on Christian love and concern for each child. Any problem situation will be discussed with parents as the need arises. The staff will emphasize positive behavior, offer reasonable choices, recognize feelings and make clear when a child's behavior is unacceptable. This will be done in a caring way and as consistent a manner as possible.
We ask that your child dress in durable, washable play clothes. We recommend that you send an extra set of clothes to be left at school for emergencies. You may want to label boots, sweaters, mittens, etc. to avoid mix-ups.
